24/7 Emergency HVAC Service

Heating and cooling problems do not always happen during normal business hours. Baker Heating, Air Conditioning & Duct Cleaning offers 24/7 emergency HVAC service for urgent heating and cooling problems that cannot reasonably wait until the next business day.

If your system has stopped working during extreme temperatures, is leaking water, repeatedly tripping electrical protection, or is showing another serious problem, call us so we can help determine the next step.

When to Call for Emergency HVAC Service

No Heat in Dangerous Cold

If your primary heating system stops working during very cold weather and indoor temperatures are falling quickly, after-hours service may be appropriate.

No Cooling in Extreme Heat

Loss of cooling can become urgent during dangerous heat, especially when vulnerable household members are present.

Water Leaks or Drainage Problems

Active water leaking from HVAC equipment, overflowing condensate, or water near electrical components should be addressed promptly.

Electrical or Mechanical Problems

Repeated breaker trips, burning electrical odors, loud mechanical noises, or a system that will not shut off normally can indicate a serious problem.

Heat Pump or Furnace Failure

A system that suddenly stops heating, repeatedly locks out, or cannot maintain a safe indoor temperature may need emergency diagnosis.

Other Urgent System Failures

If you are unsure whether the problem can wait, call us. We can help determine whether emergency service is appropriate or whether the issue can be scheduled during normal hours.

Call the Utility or 911 First When Appropriate

Do not wait for an HVAC technician if there is an immediate life-safety hazard.

  • Gas odor or suspected gas leak: Leave the building, avoid switches or flames, and contact the gas utility or emergency services from a safe location.
  • Carbon-monoxide alarm: Leave the building and call emergency services or the appropriate utility from outside.
  • Smoke, visible fire, or active electrical burning: Evacuate and call 911.

Before You Call

If it is safe to do so, a few basic checks can help:

  • Confirm the thermostat is powered and set to the correct mode
  • Check whether a breaker has tripped once; do not repeatedly reset a breaker that continues to trip
  • Check the air filter for severe blockage
  • Make sure supply and return vents are not blocked
  • For heat pumps, note any error message or unusual icing

If the system still is not operating correctly—or if anything appears unsafe—call Baker HVAC.

What to Expect From Emergency Service

Emergency service focuses on restoring safe operation or diagnosing the problem so you know what needs to happen next. Some repairs can be completed during the emergency visit, while others may require a specific replacement part or a follow-up appointment.

When you call, describe the symptoms, equipment type, any error codes, and anything unusual you noticed before the system stopped working. That information can help us prepare for the service call.
